T-town, SEB Fall In Softball Action, C'land Wins

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis fell behind 3-0 in the first inning and never got back on track in a 12-4 loss to Robinson in softball action Thursday.

The Maroons had 10 hits in the contest with four of those home runs. Gunn had a single, double, two home runs and two RBI while Morris had a single, home run and two RBI and Mendenhall a two-run homer.

Teutopolis was led by Mette with a single, home run and two RBI, M. Hemmen a single and double and J. Drees two singles and two RBI.

The Wooden Shoes drop to 7-15 on the season.

At Marshall

St. Elmo/Brownstown fell to host Marshall 7-6. Marshall held a 3-1 lead in the first and a 4-2 lead in the second. SEB came back with four runs in the top of the fourth to take a 6-4 lead. But Marshall tied in the bottom of the inning then tallied the winning run in the fifth.

SEB outhit Marshall 11-9. S. Moss had two singles and three RBI while Brown had two singles and two RBI and Maxey two singles.

At Tuscola

Cumberland blanked Tuscola 3-0. The Pirates tallied all three runs in the fourth inning.

Liberty Dunaway pushed her pitching record to 11-5 by throwing a five-hitter with eight strikeouts.

Oakley had a double and two RBI for the Pirates who improve to 14-8.
