Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School downed Altamont 10-4 to win the championship of the National Trail Conference Girls Softball Tournament Friday.
The Hatchets edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead and led 5-1 after three. Altamont came back with two in the top of the fourth and one in the fifth but WSS tallied a run in the bottom of the fourth and four more in the sixth.
WSS had 14 hits in the contest led by Cole with three singles, Tabbert with a single, triple and two RBI, Roney with a double, home run and four RBI, Davis with three singles and Bennett with two singles.
Altamont was led by Mette with a single and double. Altamont is 10-14 overall.
In the third place contest, Neoga had a 13-run fourth inning to end the game 18-3 over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.
The Indians had 12 hits and were aided by seven CHBC errors. Lee and Titus had three singles and two RBI each for the Indians. Saunders added a single, double and three RBI, Estay a single, double and two RBI and Helmuth a double.
CHBC was led by Wheeler with a single and an RBI and Doty, Oldham and Dye with a single each.
Titus threw the four-hitter with four walks and five strikeouts.
In the consolation championship game, St. Anthony blanked St. Elmo/Brownstown 6-0
The Bulldogs had 10 hits in the contest led by Coffin with a single and two doubles, Wotlman with three singles and an RBI, L. Day with two singles and two RBI and Kabbes with a double and two RBI.
SEB was led by Oberlink with a double and Parkinson with two singles.

At Flora
Effingham captured a 5-1 victory over Flora in action Friday.
The Hearts and the Wolves were tied at 1-1 after five innings. The Hearts then moved ahead with a two-run sixth and finished out with two in the seventh.
Wright had two singles for EHS. Armstrong picked up the pitching win for Coach Jerry Trigg's outfit, allowing six hits, no walks and striking out six.

At Beecher City
Mulberry Grove claimed the championship of the Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament Saturday.
Mulberry Grove went 3-0, blanking CHBC 14-0, beating St. Elmo/Brownstown 8-5 and downing Ramsey, no score provided.
Finishing second was St. Elmo/Brownstown who beat Ramsey 13-4 and won over CHBC 12-2. CHBC was third and Ramsey finished fourth. CHBC lost to Mulberry Grove, SEB and beat Ramsey 7-5.
Named to the EI All-Conference team were Mackenzie Parksion (SEB), the Most Valuable Player, Tessa Philpot (SEB), Madison Compton (Ramsey), Alyssa Dothager (Mulberry Grove), Makayla Dothager (Mulberry Grove), Kylee Wheeler (CHBC), Danielle HIll (Ramsey), Katelyn Maxey (SEB), Bella Doty (CHBC) and Sarah Kirchhofer (CHBC).
Honorable Mention went to Trista Koertge (Mulberry Grove), Jenna Koonce (Mulberry Grove), Natalie Obelirnk (SEB) and Connie Schackmann (Ramsey).
