Bulldogs Fall To Robinson, Area Softball Roundup

ROBINSON -- Effingham St. Anthony High School held a 1-0 lead until the third inning when Robinson broke loose with three runs and went on to nab a 3-1 softball victory Wednesday.
The Bulldogs out-hit Robinson 14-6. L. Day and A. Day had two singles and a double each. A. Day drove in a run. Hakman had a single and double while Woltman had two singles.
Out of Robinson's six hits, five were extra bases. Gunn hit a solo home run while Sullivan had a triple, Johnson a single, double and an RBI and Powell and Mendenhall a double each.

St.Elmo/Brownstown hosted Ramsey and picked up a 13-3 win in five innings Wednesday.
SEB edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead, tacked on another run in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth and finished the contest with six in the fifth.
The Eagles had 13 hits led by Philpot with three singles and three RBI and Brown with a single, double and two RBI. Parkison, Moss and Maxey had two singles each.
Nolen was the winning pitcher on an eight-hitter with two walks and three strikeouts.

The Hatchets took a 2-0 lead in the second inning then had a one-run fourth, a six-run fifth and finished out with two in the seventh.
South Central drops to 2-5 in the National Trail Conference, 3-9 overall.
