South Central Wins Class M Softball Regional

WAYNE CITY -- South Central tallied a 7-3 victory over Edwards County (Albion) for the championship of the SIJHSAA Class M Girls Softball Regional.

South Central edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead. Edwards County tallied three to take the lead in the third. South Central moved ahead 5-3 in the fourth then tacked on single runs in the fifth and sixth.

Laney Webster had a single, two doubles and two RBI. Sydnee Garrett and Sierra Arnold had three singles each.

South Central improved to 15-3 and will play in the State Tournament in Pinckneyville Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
