Effingham Junior High School picked up an 11-2 win over Effingham St. Anthony in softball action Friday.

The Mustangs took a 5-2 opening inning lead and never looked back. Davis picked up the pitching win on a one-hitter with one walk and 11 strikeouts.

Kronewitter and Davis had three singles each for the Mustangs. Rothrock had two singles and three RBI, Dasenbrock two singles and an RBI, Wittenberg a triple and an RBI and Hardiek a double.

St. Anthony's lone hit came from Boatman with a single and an RBI.

Shelbyville claimed a 13-3 win over Altamont in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Shelbyville had six hits while Holland held Altamont to two hits. Goeckner and Becker had the lone hits for Altamont.

Altamont drops to 3-11 on the season.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City took an 8-0 first inning lead and finished the game in the second with seven runs for a 15-0 victory.

Madison Cherry pitched a one-hitter. CHBC had three hits led by Gracie Heckert with a double and two RBI.
