Effingham took a 6-0 first inning lead and went on to beat Paris Mayo 10-1 in a junior high softball game Tuesday that was called in the fourth inning due to bad weather.

The Mustangs had six hits led by Wittenberg with two singles and Stone with a triple and two RBI. Davis picked up the pitching win, allowing two hits, three walks and striking out four.

At Effingham

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor edged Effingham St. Anthony 3-2 Tuesday.

SSW tallied a run in the second and St. Anthony tied in the third. SSW moved ahead with a run in the top of the fourth then tacked on one in the sixth. St. Anthony came back in the bottom of the seventh with a run only to fall short.

WSS was led by Schlechte with a triple.

Karolewicz led the Bullpups with two singles and two RBI and Guy added a triple.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City defeated Ramsey 5-2. CHBC took a 2-0 first inning lead then had a three-run third.

Madison Cherry had a double for the winners and picked up the three-hit pitching win.

CHBC improved to 7-7 on the season.

At Altamont

Teutopolis claimed a 13-9 win over Altamont despite being outhit 9-5.

The score was knotted at 4-4 in the third before T-town tallied three runs then had a six-run fifth.

Hoelscher and Bushue had a hit and two RBI each for the Shoes. Altamont was led by Pemberton with a double and two RBI, Brummer with a double and Runge with a double. Altamont dropped to 3-9.

South Central bounced Flora to the tune of 14-4 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

South Central held a 3-1 first inning lead and finished out with a four-run fifth. Brooklyn Garrett had a single and double while Sydnee Garrett and Laney Webster had two singles each. Garrett added two RBI.

South Central improves to 9-2.
