Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull out a 6-4 softball win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.

The Bullpups held a 3-1 lead after three innings but CHBC moved ahead 4-3 with single runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

CHBC outhit St. Anthony 11-5. Madison Cherry had three singles and an RBI while Carsen Burks and Zaryah Cyr had two singles each and Sydney Lorton a double and an RBI. CHBC drops to 6-6.

St. Anthony was led by Boatman and Hakman with a double each. Hakman added an RBI. Guy drove in two runs with a single.

At Altamont

Altamont edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then broke the game wide open with a 15-run second and went on to beat Ramsey 17-2 in three innings.

Goeckner pitched a no-hitter.

Altamont had 13 hits in the contest led by Goeckner with two singles and two RBI, Runge with two singles and three RBI, Brummer with two singles and two RBI and Pemberton with two singles and two RBI.

Altamont improves to 3-8 overall.

South Central edged ahead of Patoka 3-2 after two innings then had a 10-run third for a 15-3 victory.

South Central had 18 hits led by Laney Webster with two singles and an inside-the-park home run. She finished with four RBI. Jordan Geiler had three singles and an RBI. Kayli Swift had a double and an inside-the-park home run with two RBI. Sydney  Garrett added two singles, a triple and three RBI. Megan Smith had two singles and a double while Lily Malone had two singles and two RBI and Brooklyn Garrett two singles and an RBI.

S. Garrett pitched a four-hitter with one walk and seven strikeouts. South Central improves to 5-1.
