FLORA -- Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School took the early lead then had to hold off Flora to claim a 15-14 softball victory Wednesday.
The Bullpups held a 5-2 first inning lead then pushed that to 14-3 in the second and tacked on a final run in the fourth. Flora made a comeback bid with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to pull within 15-8. Flora then tallied four in the fifth and scored two more in the bottom of the seventh.
St. Anthony had 11 hits in the contest led by Karolewicz with three singles and three RBI, Hakman with two singles and three RBI and Fearday with two singles and an RBI.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 6-0. WSS took a 3-0 first inning lead.
WSS had five hits in the contest led by H. Hayes with a single, triple and an RBI.
CHBC had two hits, singles by Tatyana Duckwitz and Zaryah Cyr. CHBC dropped to 6-5 on the season, 0-2 in the National Trail Conference.
