Junior High School Softball -- August 19

Altamont took a 1-0 first inning lead on Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in junior high softball action Friday. But it wasn't until the seventh Altamont pulled out the win.

CHBC took a 3-2 lead in the fourth and upped that to 7-5 in the fifth. Both teams tallied a single run in the sixth and CHBC led 8-6. but Altamont tallied three runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the victory.

Boedecker had two singles for the winners. Goeckner picked up the pitching win on a three-hitter. Altamont improved to 1-0 in the National Trail Conference and 1-5 overall.

CHBC was led by Heckert with a single, double and two RBI. CHBC dropped to 0-1 in the NTC, 2-4 overall.
