Effingham blanked Centralia 12-0 in six innings in junior high softball action Thursday. The Mustangs held a 2-0 first inning lead and tallied three in the second, two in the fourth and five in the sixth.

Wittenberg went four innings, allowing two hits, two walks and striking out seven for the victory. Davis came on in the fifth and went two innings, allowing no hits and striking out three.

Wittenberg had three singles, a double and two RBI while Davis added three singles and two RBI. Bushur had a single and triple, Rothrock a double and an RBI and Stone a double and two RBI.

At Centralia

At Altamont

Altamont Lutheran stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and went on to down Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 9-5.

Both teams had four hits. Altamont Lutheran was led by McManaway with two singles.

CHBC was led by Zaryah Cyr with two singles. CHBC did have six errors.

At St. Elmo

South Central jumped on the board in the first inning, scoring nine runs and never looked back in an 18-0 win over St. Elmo/Brownstown.

Laney Webster threw a no-hitter with eight strikeouts.

South Central had six hits, singles by Jordan Geiler, Sydnee Garrett, Kayli Swift, Brooklyn Garrett, Lily Malone and Meagan Smith. Smith drove in two RBI. South Central is now 2-1 on the season.

At St. Elmo
