Premier Fastpitch Squad Picks Up Two Victories

The Premier Fastpitch 18U Paulson softball team picked up two victories in the USA/ASA 18U Nationals competition at Bloomington, Indiana Tuesday.

The squad has four area players competing including St. Anthony High School senior-to-be Jenna Woltman and Teutopolis graduates Allison Apke, Anni Borries and Kadi Borries.

The team opened play at Twin Lakes Sports Park against Wisconsin Lightning and won 9-1 in pool play. The PF Paulson squad then claimed a 7-1 win over Carolina Cardinals.

PF Paulson will be back in action today at 8 p.m. against the winner of the Lady Wildcats vs. Warbird Academy Aces Gold.

There are 80 teams entered in the National Tournament from several states.

Woltman plays the outfield, is a catcher and plays utility. She will be attending Butler University following her senior year at St. Anthony.

Apke plays first base, third base and outfield. She will be attending Bradley University.

Anni Borries is a catcher and shortstop. She will be attending Illinois State University while her twin sister Kadi Borries, who pitches, plays second base and the outfield, will also be attending Illinois State University.

The PF Paulson crew captured the State ASA "A" champioinship during the season along with six other tournament titles. They also have a 38-1 record.
