Pinckneyville Wins T-town Memorial Day Tourney

TEUTOPOLIS -- The Pinckneyville Falcons claimed the championship of the Teutopolis Memorial Day Men's Fastpitch Softball Tournament recently.

Pinckneyville took on McMahon Meats and picked up a 10-9 victory. McMahon Meats took a 3-0 lead in the third inning and led 8-3 after four.

The Falcons came back with five runs in the fifth to tie the score at 8-8. McMahon moved ahead with a run in the sixth. The Falcons then won the game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

There were four home runs hit in the contest, two by each team. Eisenhower hit a solo shot and Dudek a two-run blow for Pinckneyville. Terry Mette hit a two-run homer in the third and Will Clark a two-run shot in the fourth for McMahon Meats.

The third place contest went to Bowen Ramsey Financial over Koerner Miller Lite 13-1. Bowen took an 8-0 lead in the second and never looked back, ending the game early.

The Most Valuable Pitcher award went to Nick Siebenlist of Bowen while winning the Most Valuable Player award was Bryant Shute of Pinckneyville. The Chris Hutts Memorial Day Home Run Champ award went to Collin Dooley of Bowen.
