The Effingham Hearts placed three players on the All-Apollo Conference Softball Team for 2016.

Sophomore Aly Armstrong was one of three all-conference pitchers, joining Lesley Swick of Mattoon and Maddie Morgan of Mt. Zion.

Despite battling injuries, Kaylee Tonn, headed to Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, made the Apollo Conference second team, along with Shelby Youngblood of Mattoon, Camryn Skundberg and Dayna Kennedy of Mt. Zion, Natalie Gordon of Charleston, Katie Patton of Taylorville, and Mallory Daniels and Kelly Sager of Salem.
