The Teutopolis Lady Shoes won the 2016 Cross Creek Classic Friday night, downing the St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs 11-1 in a five-inning contest at Evergreen Hollow Park.

The Shoes scored four times in the second. Amanda Waldhoff doubled to lead off the inning and after a wild pitch moved her to third, Raegan Drees' fly ball brought Waldhoff home to make it 4-0. Marianna Hemmen then singled and Kadi Borries followed with a laser over the left field fence that helped trim a tree and extend the Shoes' lead to 6-0. Apke followed with a double and Repking singled her home to make it 7-0 before the inning ended.

St. Anthony got their lone run of the night in the top of the third on a home run that cleared the left field fence from Allie Day. It was the freshman's first homer of the season and made it 7-1.

Teutopolis came right back in the bottom of the third, though. Waldhoff singled and Raegan Drees tripled her home to make it 8-1. Anni Borries' fly ball to right brought home Drees to extend the lead to 9-1. With two outs, Kadi Borries singled and Apke walked before Repking brought them both home with a double to make it 11-1.

Neither team scored in the fourth, and Anni Borries came on to retire St. Anthony in order in the fifth to end the game.
