Effingham had their "A" game going Friday, posting a 20-0 win over St. Elmo/Brownstown at Effingham High School field.

A 12-run first inning helped, followed by a run in the second, four in the third and three runs in the fourth. Effingham pounded out 22 hits.

As a compliment to the big offense, Aly Armstrong allowed no hits in posting the pitching victory, walking two and striking out seven to improve to 4-1 on the spring. Philpot took the loss for SEB.

At the plate, Carsyn Fearday hit a grand slam in the second and also doubled and singled, driving in five runs. Kaylee Tonn went four-for-four and drove in a run, Hope Collier doubled twice and singled and drove in three runs, Madison Weis had five hits including a double and drove in six runs, Jenna Wright singled, Alissa Kersey singled twice and drove in a run, Skyler Schafer singled and drove in a run, Lauren Douthit and Shelby Borries each singled, Jayde Lake singled and drove in a run, and Chloe Funneman drove in a run.

Effingham improved to 5-2 on the season.

St. Anthony posted an impressive 14-0 win over Neoga Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs scored a run in the first inning, then scored six in the second, three in the third and four in the fifth to claim the victory. 

Jenna Woltman went the distance to post the win, allowing four hits and two walks while fanning three batters. Neece took the loss for the Lady Indians.
