Bulldogs Fall to CHS, Shoes, Cougars Victorious

Effingham St. Anthony High School fell to Charleston 12-3 in softball competition Thursday.

The Trojans outhit St. Anthony 12-3 in the contest. McElravy had two singles, a home run and three RBI while Edwards had two singles, a double and five RBI.

The Bulldogs were led by Jenna Woltman, Maddie Schuette and Marci Mills with a single each. Mills had an RBI.

At Charleston

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis improved to 12-1 on the season with an 8-1 victory over Altamont Thursday.

The game went scoreless through three innings before the Wooden Shoes tallied seven runs in the bottom of the fourth then added on a final run in the sixth.

Altamont scored its lone run in the seventh. The Indians fall to 3-8 on the season.

Drees had two doubles and two RBI for the Shoes while Kadi Borries had a single and double. Apke added two singles and two RBI and Drees two singles and an RBI.

Altamont's hit came from Goeckner with a single.

South Central stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and went on to pound Dieterich 17-2 in six innings.

The Cougars banged out 22 hits in the contest. Lexie Reid led the way with three singles, two doubles and two RBI while Alannah Sigrist had three singles, a double and three RBI, Zoe Johnston three singles and two RBI and Katelyn Wilson with three singles and two RBI.

South Central improves to 1-2 in the National Trail Conference, 3-4 overall.
