St. Anthony Bounces BCCH in Softball

Effingham St. Anthony High School banged out 21 hits, was aided by seven errors and scored a 17-5 win over Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick in girls softball action Monday.

The Bulldogs stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead but went the whole seven innings, scoring nine in the seventh.

Laura Gurtner led the 21 hit attack with three singles, a double and four RBI. Hunter Niebrugge had a single and a solo home run. Jenna Woltman added a single, double and three RBI. Katie Kabbes had five singles and an RBI, Maddie Schuette had four singles and two RBI and Alli Day a double and two RBI. Liz Day chipped in with two singles and an RBI.

Wojcik led BCCH with a single and three RBI.
