Bulldogs Drop Loss, T-town Wins Big, Area Softball Scores

Robinson came to Effingham St. Anthony and left with a 16-0 win in five innings via the 10-run rule in softball action Wednesday.
The Maroons edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead then had an 11-run third and a three-run fourth.
Mendenhall pitched a no-hitter for the Maroons with two walks and six strikeouts.
Three St. Anthony pitchers allowed 18 walks in the contest.

At Charleston
Teutopolis pounded out 16 hits, including five home runs, and blasted Charleston 14-0 in six innings.
The Shoes edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then had a four-run third, a three-run fourth and ended the game in the sixth with six runs.
Kadi Borries threw a perfect game for the win, allowing no hits, no runs, no walks and striking out nine.

Allison Apke had two hits, both home runs. Apke nailed a two-run shot in the third and a grand slam in the sixth. She finished with six RBI.
Anni Borries had a single, a triple, a solo home run and two RBI while K. Borries had three singles and two RBI. Jessica Drees hit a solo home run and Raegan Drees hit a two-run shot.
The Shoes are now 5-0 on the season and back in action Monday hosting Olney at 4:30 p.m.

Greenville scored 15 runs in the fourth inning and downed St. Elmo/Brownstown 21-6 in five innings Wednesday.
"We were in a good position this game and then in the bottom of the fourth we had to pull our pitcher with a sore arm," said SEB Coach Tom Fedrigon. "Our number two pitcher is already injured so that left us in a tough spot. I am proud of the way Emily Bone came in the game and pitched for us. It is a tough spot for her as she has not pitched since junior high school and she's a senior. We swung the bat well again."
SEb outhit Greenville 9-8. Kyrstyn Fitch had two hits and an RBI. SEB drops to 0-4.

Only two runs were scored in this contest and, unfortunately for Cumberland, those two runs were by Olney in a 2-0 victory.
Olney taliled a run in the third and one in the fourth. Cumberland outhit the Tigers 6-4 with Thornton garnering a triple.
