Bulldogs Pick Up Victory, Suffer Two Losses at Meade Co. Softball Tourney

KENTUCKY -- Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed one victory and suffered two defeats at the Meade County Softball Tournament during the weekend.

In the opening contest, Elizabethtown, Ky. was a 3-1 winner. St. Anthony was led by Kabbes with a solo home run. Woltman chipped in with two singles.

In the second game, St. Anthony beat Bullitt Central 5-1. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the first then tacked on three more in the third.

Niebrugge had a single, triple and two RBI while Schuette, L. Day and Kabbes had two singles each. Schuette had two  RBI and L. Day one.

In the final game, Collins downed St. Anthony 10-7. St. Anthony held a 7-2 lead until the fifth when Collins tallied eight runs for the victory.

St. Anthony had 12 hits in the game led by Niebrugge with a triple and home run with three RBI. Gibson had a solo home run. Woltman had two singles and a triple with one RBI. Kabbes added two singles.
