Effingham High School senior Hope Collier has signed to play college softball at Lake Land College.

A signing ceremony took place Saturday night at Lake Land.

Hope is the daughter of John and Carrie Collier of Effingham. John Collier said Hope was recruited as a hitter and will likely play in the field, although she also might be used as a pitcher. He said Lake Land Coach Nic Nelson told them of his recruits, "the more versatile, the better".

As to what she might study, John Collier said Hope is looking at "something in the medical field".
