ALBION -- South Central Junior High School saw its season come to a close in the championship game of the Edwards County (Albion) Softball Regional Friday, 10-3.
Edwards County took a 4-1 first inning lead. South Central pulled back within 4-3 but Edwards County scored one in the third, four in the fourth and one in the sixth.
"We made some defensive and offensive mistakes in this game that put us down early and had to battle back, but just couldn't get the hits when we needed them," said South Central Coach Kapper. "The girls never quit, though, battling until the end. These girls worked hard all year to improve. They were 3-10 last year and this year went 13-3, making it to the regional championship for the first time ever. They represented our team, school and community very well."
