ALTAMONT -- St. Elmo/Brownstown Junior High School fell to Mulberry Grove 10-9 in the championship game of the Class 1A Altamont Softball Regional Tuesday.
Mulberry Grove advances to the Paris Crestwood Sectional where it will play host Paris Crestwood at 11 a.m. Saturday.
At Effingham
In the championship game of the Class 2A Effingham Regional, Mount Zion easily handled Mattoon 13-3.
Mount Zion advances to the Cumberland Sectional against Charleston at 11 a.m. Saturday.
At Rome
South Central edged out to a 2-1 first inning lead and went on for a 14-4 win in five innings.
The Falcons were led by Kayli Swift with a single, double and four RBI while Angelica Rivera had two singles and an RBI. South Central is now 11-1 on the season.
