BEECHER CITY -- Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick Junior High School split a softball doubleheader with Martinsville Monday.
Martinsville claimed the opener 13-1 in five innings. Martinsville stepped out to a 7-0 first inning lead and had a five-run fifth.
Both teams had two hits each. Zaryah Cyr and Mykaela Dye had a single each for BCCH.
In the second contest, BCCH captured a 2-0 win to improve to 3-12. BCCH scored both runs in the third inning. Madison Cherry pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts.
Cherry aided her own cause with a double and an RBI. Sydney Dunaway had a single.

At St. Elmo
St. Elmo/Brownstown improved to 4-8 on the season with a 16-4 win over Flora. SEB stepped out to a 6-0 first inning lead, had a three-run second and a seven-run fourth.
SEB banged out 14 hits in the contest led by Cassidy Moss with three singles and an RBI, Kaelynn Fedrigon with two singles and an RBI, Katelyn Maxey with two singles and three RBI, Emma Gathe with two singles and two RBI and Avyree Scholes with two singles and an RBI.
Natalie Oberlink picked up the pitching win, throwing a four-hitter with seven strikeouts.
"We are definitely playing like I thought we would," said SEB Coach To Fedrigon. "Our defense was solid, led once again by pitcher Natalie Oberlink who spun a hifty four-hitter."
