Teutopolis Junior High School captured a 10-0 win over Effingham St. Anthony in five innings of softball competition Monday.

"Abby Bloemer pitched an excellent game," said T-town Coach Brittany Meyer. "Olivia Niemerg turned an outstanding unassisted double play by tagging second and following through with a throw to first. Overall we had an outstanding team effort with great hits and bunts to complete the game."

 

At Effingham

 Effingham pounced on Salem and handed Franklin Park a 16-1 loss in softball competition Monday.

The Mustangs held a 2-0 first inning lead then had a big eight-run second. The Mustangs had five extra base hits. Jaelyn Boone had a single, double and three RBI, Kyrsta Dasenbrock a double, Makayla Allie a triple and an RBI, Morgan Krouse a triple and an RBI and Emma Budde a triple and two RBI. Jaidi Davis added two singles and two RBI.

McKenzie Wittenberg picked up the pitching win, allowing three hits, one walk and striking out six.

At Effingham

South Central took a 6-1 first inning lead and went on for an 11-4 victory over Altamont.

Sydnee Garrett pitched the eight-hitter with one walk and eight strikeouts. Katie Shumate banged out five singles and had three RBI. Angelica Rivera and Sydnee Garrett had two singles each. Laney Webster added a triple and Lauren Kramer a double.

South Central improves to 6-0.

Shelbyville Moulton took the early lead and handed St. Elmo/Brownstown a 13-3 loss in five innings via the 10-run rule.

"I am very proud of how hard our girls played," said SEB Coach Tom Fedrigon. "We had good focus and worked very hard. We just ran into a team that could smash the ball. Shelbyville was as good a hitting team as we have faced all year."

Katelyn Maxey led SEB's hitting attack with two singles. SEB is now 1-7 on the season.
