TEUTOPOLIS --  Teutopolis Junior High School played host to Shelbyville Moulton and claimed a 4-1 girls softball victory Thursday.

"Ali Brumleve pitched a great game with full command on the mound," said T-town Coach Brittany Meyer. "One run scored in the bottom of the seventh on a passed ball, otherwise Ali had a great shutout tonight."

Karyn Mette went two-for-three for T-town with two RBI. Mette scored the first two runs of the game. Brumleve, Olivia Niemerg, Mya Funneman and Claire Bushur all went one-for-three with base hits throughout the game.

 

At Beecher City

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick broke loose for its first victory of the season by pounding Altamont Lutheran 15-7.

BCCH edged out to a 4-3 opening inning lead then pushed ahead 8-5 after two and tallied three runs in the third and four in the fourth.

Madison Cherry picked up the pitching win. BCCH had six hits, all singles by Tatyana Duckwitz, Sydney Dunaway, Zaryah Cyr, Alexis Vaughn, Cherry and Mykaela Dye. BCCH is now 1-6 on the season.

Altamont stepped out to a 4-1 first inning lead and went on for an 11-1 win over Sullivan in five innings.

Altamont had eight hits led by Hannah Burns and Mary Guse with a single and double each. Barns knocked in three runs while Guse had one RBI.
