Premier Gold Takes Loss Tuesday, Into Double Elimination Phase of National Tournament

The Mattoon Premier Gold 18U softball team lost 3-1 Tuesday in action at the 1015 ASA/USA 18U Class A Girls Fast Pitch National Championship. The loss follows a 12-5 win on Monday over the Michigan Batbusters 18U Premier.

The squad, which features Teutopolis players Anni Borries, Kadi Borries and Allison Apke moves into the double-elimination phase of the tournament.

The tournament that features teams from across the nation is being held in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and will continue through the weekend.
