Girls Minor League Tournament -- July 6

The Girls Minor League Tournament got underway with two games Monday evening at Evergreen Hollow Park.

First National Bank of Dieterich claimed a 12-8 win over Chesnut Family Music. First National took a 4-0 first inning lead then led 6-0 after two and tacked on six runs in the third.

Faith Bell had a single for the winners while Ella Kinkelaar had an RBI. Kinkelaar was the winning pitcher on a one-hitter.

Adna Denton had a single for Chesnut. First National advances to face Heart & Home Realty at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

In the second game, Murphy USA defeated Martin's IGA Plus 13-4. Murphy took a 6-1 first inning lead and never looked back.

Riley Cunningham had the lone hit of the game, a single, for Murphy. Keira Rothrock pitched a no-hitter. Murphy USA advances to meet Evergreen Mini Golf at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
