Effingham Express Care handed J&R Collision Center an 8-5 loss in Junior Girls Softball League action at Evergreen Hollow Park Wednesday.

The two squads were tied at 1-1 after two innings. J&R took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third but Express Care had a five-run bottom of the inning.

Kaylee Newkirk picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter. Karsyn Gouchenouer had a double for the winners while Natalie Carie added two singles.

Alexis Monnet led J&R with a single and triple and Andrea Bierman added a triple.

In the second game, J&R Collision came back to down Walk Auto Body 10-5. J&R stepped out to a 6-2 opening inning lead and never looked back.

Mackenzie Brewer and Katie Kabbes had a single and double each. Andrea Bierman added two singles for J&R.

Walk Auto Body was led by Alissa Kersey with a single and triple and Makayli Ali with a double.
