BCCH Beats Dieterich, Neoga Wins In Softball Regionals

DIETERICH -- Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick claimed a 7-2 win over Dieterich in the Class 1A St. Elmo/Brownstown Softball Regional Monday.

BCCH held a 1-0 lead in the third. Dieterich tied the score in the fourth. BCCH then scored five in the fifth for the win.

The Movin' Maroons had nine hits in the contest led by Pierce with two singles, a double and an RBI, Kollman with two singles and an RBI and Doty with two singles, a triple and an RBI.

Dieterich was led by Garbe with a single and double and Vahling with a double and an RBI.

BCCH advances to face Effingham St. Anthony today at 4:30 p.m.

Class 1A Stewardson-Strasburg Regional

Neoga took a 4-1 lead in the second inning and tacked on three more in the third for a 7-1 win over Arcola in the Stew-Stras Regional Monday.

Neece pitched the five-hitter with two walks and six strikeouts. The Indians had 10 hits led by Roderick with two singles, a double and an RBI while Taylor added a single, triple and two RBI. Blazich had a triple.

Hume Shiloh bounced Martinsville 16-0 in the first game of this regional. Hume Shiloh advances to take on Casey-Westfield at 4:30 p.m. today.

Class 1A Woodlawn Regional

South Central was a 1-0 winner over Webber Township (Bluford) in the Woodlawn Regional.

The Cougars will face Wayne City today at 4:30 p.m.

Class 2A Robinson Regional

Marshall edged Robinson 7-6 in the opening game of the Robinson Regional.

Marshall now faces Teutopolis at 4:30 p.m. today.

Class 2A Fairfield Regional

Mount Carmel ended Clay City/North Clay's season with a 9-1 victory Monday.

Mount Carmel will now take on Flora at 4:30 p.m. today.
