St. Anthony Falls In Regional Play

Effingham St. Anthony saw its junior high school softball season come to a close with a loss in its own Class A Regional Thursday.
The Bullpups fell to Oblong 3-0. Meanwhile the other contest was Paris Crestwood over Palestine 5-0.
In Saturday's action, Cumberland will meet Paris Crestwood at 10 a.m. followed by Casey-Westfield against Oblong at 11:30. The winners advance to the championship game Monday at 4 p.m.
No further information was turned in on the St. Anthony game.
At St. Elmo
In Class A play at St. Elmo, Findlay Okaw Valley advanced by trouncing Windsor 17-0. Findlay Okaw Valley will now face Stewardson-Strasburg Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The opening game Saturday will feature Altamont taking on Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick at 10 a.m.
The winners advance to the title game Monday at 4:30 p.m.
At Lawrenceville
Lawrenceville Parkview bounced Red Hill (Bridgeport) 17-2 in its own Class AA regional.
Lawrenceville Parkview now advances to a meeting with Teutopolis Saturday at 10 a.m. In the second game Saturday at 11:30, Effingham takes on Jasper County. The winners will meet for the title Monday at 4:30 p.m.
