Wooden Shoes Now 18-1, Altamont Claims Softball Victory

SHELBYVILLE -- Teutopolis went into the third scoreless before tallying four runs and going on for a 9-4 win over Shelbyville in softball competition Monday evening.
T-town led 4-2 after three then scored single runs in the fourth and seventh and three in the sixth. The Shoes had nine hits in the contest led by Madison Cowman with a single and double, Danielle Repking with two singles and Julie Wente with a double and an RBI.
The Shoes are now 18-1 on the season and return to action today at Mattoon.

Altamont came calling and outlasted St. Elmo/Brownstown in National Trail Conference play, 18-12.
SEB held an 11-10 lead after five innings. Altamont then broke loose with seven runs in the sixth.
Altamont had 15 hits led by Biggs with a double, triple and two RBI, Goeckner with four singles and three RBI, Higgs with a 2 singles, a triple and three RBI and McHugh with two singles and two RBI.
SEB was led by Fitch with three singles and an RBI, Brown with a single, double and three RBI and Pruett with two singles and an RBI.
Altamont improves to 4-2 in the NTC, 6-10 overall.

Clay City/North Clay (Louisville) blanked Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 10-0 in five innings.
With an 8-0 lead after two innings, CCNC then tallied two runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.
Dulaney picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter with one walk and one strikeout. She also aided her own cause offensively with three singles and an RBI. Clay City/North Clay is now 8-8.
