South Central Improves Record In Softball Play

FARINA -- South Central handed Ramsey a 10-5 loss in girls softball competition Wednesday.

The Cougars trailed Ramsey 3-1 after three innings then had a four-run fourth, a three-run fifth anad a two-run sixth for the victory.

Kanady Grzegorek picked up the pitching win on a seven-hitter with one strikeout. Abby King came on for the save.

Mia Campbell and King had two singles, a double and an RBI each for the winners. South Central improves to 4-7 on the season.

At Farina

At Altamont

Charleston defeated Altamont 8-2. The Trojans took a 1-0 lead in the second then held a 3-2 lead in the fourth. Charleston then tallied five runs in the sixth.

Craft held Altamont to one hit, a single by Biggs who also drove in both runs.

Altamont drops to 4-4 on the season.

At Toledo

Casey-Westfield blanked Cumberland 5-0. The Warriors taliled three runs in the third to take the early lead.

Casey-Westfield had 12 hits in the contest while Black held Cumberland to two hits while striking out five.

Decker led the Warriors with a single, double and two RBI while Neal added a solo home run and Cutright a single, two doubles and an RBI. The Warriors improve to 14-4.

Audrey Casey had both hits, singles, for the Pirates who drop to 15-4 on the season.

Clay City/North Clay (Louisville) defeated Cisne 5-2 to improve to 5-4 on the season.

Cisne held a 1-0 lead in the second but Clay City/North Clay came back with a four-run third and tacked on a single run in the sixth.

Kessler and Me. Hance led the hitting with two singles each. Kessler had two RBI and Hance one RBI.
