SEB fell in the opening game to Pana 7-4. Both teams had seven hits. Darby Moss led SEB with two singles and an RBI.

"It took us until the sixth inning to really get going and that was too little, too late," said  SEB Coach Tom Fedrigon. "I don't know if it was the early start coupled with a long bus ride or what was happening, but we just couldn't muster any energy until it was too late."

In the second game, St. Elmo/Brownstown bounced back to down Vandalia 12-1 in five innings. SEB banged ut 15 hits in the contest led by Morgan Brown with two singles, a home run and two RBI, Stephanie Calhoun with a single, double and an RBI, Scholes with three singles and four RBI and D. Moss with three singles and an RBI.

"Whatever we lacked for in energy and enthusiasm offensively in the Pana game, we more than made up for this game," said Fedrigon. "Baylee Scholes threw, perhaps, her best game of the year so far. She did a great job of mixing pitches and keeping hitters off balance, allowing only six hits and giving up one unearned run."
