Altamont, T-town Pick Up Softball Victories, Area Scores

ALTAMONT -- Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick scored quickly through the first three innings but Altamont came back for the win 11-10 in softball play Thursday.
BCCH led 2-1 after the first then led 5-1 in the second and scored five more in the third. Altamont started its comeback with three runs in the bottom of the third then had a two-run fourth and a five-run fifth.
The Indians had nine hits led by Burns with two triples and three RBI, Higgs with a single, double and an RBI and Goeckner with a double and an RBI. Altamont is now 2-3.
BCCH was led by Amanda Pierce and Isabella Doty with two singles each. Pierce had three RBI. The Eagles drop to 1-6.

Teutopolis put this one in the win category early with a 10-run first inning and ended the game in the fifth, 11-0 over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor.
The Wooden Shoes had seven hits led by Kadi Borries with a single, double and an RBI and Anni Borries with a triple and an RBI. K. Borries picked up the pitching win on a one-hitter with one walk and six strikeouts. T-town is now 11-0 on the season.
Stew-Stras/Windsor's lone hit was a single by Tabor.

Marshall edged Newton 6-5 in action Thursday.
Newton led 1-0 after the first and 2-0 after three. Marshall came back with 3-1 in the fourth and trailed 5-2 after six. Marshall then had a four-run seventh to pull out the win.
Newton was led by Emily Kerner with a single, double and triple. Ariel Richards had three RBI.
