ALTAMONT -- Altamont handed Mulberry Grove a 15-6 defeat in junior high softball action Tuesday.
Altamont took a 6-0 first inning lead. Mulberry Grove tallied three runs in the top of the third, but Altamont answered back with two in the bottom of the frame, tacked on three more in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Altamont banged out 17 hits in the contest led by Elizabeth Biggs went four for five with two singles, a double, triple and five RBI. Keidron Duckwitz also went four for five with three singles, a triple and two RBI. Brooke Burns had three singles and drove in two runs.
Altamont improves to 11-5 on the season and returns to action Saturday in the St. Elmo Regional against the winner of the St. Elmo vs. Beecher City contest.
