FLORA -- In games at Flora Saturday, Teutopolis scored in every inning but one in downing Effingham 13-3.

T-town took a 2-0 first inning lead then had a six-run second and single runs in the fourth and sixth sandwiched around three runs in the fifth. Effingham's three runs came in the fourth. Effingham was led by Jenna Wright with two singles and an RBI.

In the second contest, Flora downed Effingham 10-5. Effingham led 2-0 until the bottom of the third when Flora tallied four runs. The Mustangs were led by Katelyn Lybarger with two singles a double and two RBI, Bria Barr with two singles and Madi Crain and Brianne Boggs with a double each.

Stew-Stras 3, Teutopolis 2

Stewardson-Strasburg Junior High School edged Teutopolis 3-2 in junior high softball action Friday.

Stew-Stras stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead. T-town attempted comebacks, scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth, but couldn't overcome that early Stew-Stras lead.

Becca Schlechte pitched the two-hit victory and aided her own cause with two singles. T-town's Jessica Drees dropped to 3-1 with the tough-luck loss on a three-hitter with no walks and 10 strikeouts.

T-town is now 8-3 and is back in action Tuesday at Altamont.

Beecher City 9, St. Elmo 7

Beecher City and St. Elmo were tied 2-2 after the first inning but Beecher City broke that tie with a four-run second then tallied three in the third. St. Elmo came back with single runs in the fourth and sixth but fell short.

Beecher City improved to 3-12. The squad had seven hits led by Isabella Doty with a double and two RBI and Allison Day with a double and three RBI.

St. Elmo was led by Brown with three singles and two RBI.

In Friday play, Altamont came calling and captured a 13-7 victory over Effingham. Elizabeth Biggs was the winning pitcher for Altamont with a four-hitter with nine strikeouts.

Leading Altamont was Kassie Shelton with two singles and an RBI. Brooke Burns and E. Biggs had a triple each. Burns drove in three runs and Biggs two.

Effingham was led by Jenna Wright with a single and a triple. Aly Armstrong had a triple.

Altamont improves to 8-3 on the season.
