CASEY -- Effingham Junior High School fell in softball action to Casey-Westfield 4-1 Thursday. The score was tied at 1-1 through the top of the sixth. Caesy-Westfield then tallied three runs to pull out the victory.
"Jenna Wright pitched a great game with only two walks," said Effingham Coach Lindsay Francis. "Bria Barr also had a great game behind the plate and with two for three with two singles."
Effingham is back in action Saturday against Altamont.

St. Anthony 14, Beecher City 9
St. Anthony tallied runs in the first three innings and banged out 14 hits in the contest.
The Bullpups led 11-4 after three then tallied three more in the fifth. Kabbes had a single, double, two triples and two RBI for the winners. Rentfrow had two singles, a triple and two RBI while Woltman had two singles, a home run and four RBI.
Isabella Doty led Beecher City with two singles and an RBI.

Stewardson-Strasburg blanked St. Elmo 10-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule.
Stew-Stras had five hits in the contest led by Calla Roney with a single and a double. Becca Schlechte went four innings allowing no hits and striking out 10 and Megan Schlechte came on in the final inning giving up no hits.
Stew-Stras is now 8-0 and is back in action today against Teutopolis.

Altamont 15, Ramsey 2
Altamont leaped out to an 8-2 opening inning lead and ended the game in the fifth. Audrey Winters pitched all five innings gving up one hit, seven walks and striking out nine.
Keidron Duckwitz led the winners with a triple, home run and three RBI. Brook Burns had two singles and two RBI. Altamont improves to 7-3 on the season.
