Finals Set For Junior High Softball Regionals

Junoir High School softball regional championship games have been set for today with the finals.
In the Class 1A Casey-Westfield Regional, Effingham St. Anthony saw its season come to a close Saturday. The Bullpups fell to host Casey-Westfield 6-2.
In the opening game of the day, Cumberland blanked Oblong 13-0.
Casey-Westfield and Cumberland square off today at 4:30 p.m., weather-permitting, for the championship. The winner advances to the Cumberland Sectional Saturday against the St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional winner at 11 a.m.
Class 1A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional
Windsor advanced to the championshp game of the Class 1A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional with a victory Saturday.
Windsor bounced Okaw Valley to the tune of 16-1.
Altamont took on Mulberry Grove and fell 10-7. Mulberry Grove advanced to face Windsor at 4:30 p.m. today, weather permitting, for the championship. The winner advances to the Cumberland Sectional Saturday against the Casey-Westfield Regional winner at 11 a.m.
Class 2A Charleston Regional
Teutopolis moved into the title contest today against top-seeded Charleston at 4:15 p.m., weather permitting.
T-town, the No. 3 seed, edged second-seeded Paris Mayo, 5-4. Paris took a 2-1 lead before T-town came back with two in the top of the third. Paris Mayo then took a 4-3 lead in the fourth. T-town came back with two runs in the top of the seventh then survived a lead-off double in the bottom of the seventh to win.
A. Niebrugge, S. Gebben and C. Bushur had two singles each for T-town. Bushur had two RBI and Gebben one. A. Brumleve pitched a seven-hitter with one walk and six strikeouts. T-town is now 14-8-1 on the season.
The winner will advance to the Teutopolis Sectional Saturday to face the Sullivan Regional winner at 11 a.m.
