Wessel's Finishes in Top 20 at NAFA World Series

Wessel's Coors Light finished in the Top 20 at the North American Fastpitch Association (NAFA) A-Major World Series in Topeka, Kansas recently.
Wessel's blanked IW's 8-0 in the series opener. Neither team scored until the fourth when Wessel's brought home three runs. Wessel's had a 10-hit attack led by Chad Buehnerkemper with a single and a double, Marcus Millsap with two singles and two RBI and Josh Pruemer with a solo homer. Gary Niebrugge pitched a three-hitter with no walks and nine strikeouts.
In the second game, Wessel's fell to Dragons Rage 8-7. Dragons Rage led 5-3 after three innings but Wessel's came back to take a 6-5 lead in the fourth. Dragons Rage tied in the top of the fifth then took an 8-6 lead in the seventh. Wessel's rallied in the bottom of the inning but fell short. John Niebrugge had a single, three home runs and four RBI.
In the third game, Wessel's fell to CI Knights 8-6. Millsap had a single, home run and three RBI.
The final game went to Fort Collins over Wessel's 2-0. Single runs came in the second and third. Wessel's could muster on three hits in the game, all singles.
Wessel's finished the season with a 21-16 record and as Teutopolis League Tournament champions. Gary Niebrugge led the team in pitching wins with 11. John Niebrugge led the team in average with .403. Jaden Widdersheim led in home runs with 13 and RBI with 43. Brent Bohnhoff was on the All-Tournament Team for the ASA Wood Bat State.
