Teutopolis Junior High School not only improved its softball record but also advanced in the Class 2A Charleston Regional Thursday.
T-town bounced Lawrenceville Parkview 12-2 in five innings. T-town had seven hits in the contest led by Emma Deters with a single and a grand slam home run in the third inning. Alli Brumleve picked up the pitching win, going four innings, allowing three hits, no walks and striking out four.
T-town is now 13-8-1 on the season and advances to face Paris Mayo Saturday at 11:30 a.m. In the opening game Saturday, Jasper County will meet Charleston at 10.

In the Class 1A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional, the host squad was to face Findlay Okaw Valley Thursday but the game was postponed to today at 4:30 p.m. The winner advances to face Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 10 a.m. Saturday. The second game will feature Altamont taking on Mulberry Grove at 11:30.
In the Class 1A Casey-Westfield Regional Saturday, Cumberland meets Oblong at 10 a.m. followed by Effingham St. Anthony taking on Casey-Westfield at 11:30.
