Junior High Softball Regional -- Sept. 10

Effingham Junior High School saw its season come to an end in the Class 2A Charleston Softball Regional Wednesday.

The Mustangs fell to Jasper County 9-4. Jasper County advances to face Charleston Saturday at 10 a.m.

The second contest, featuring Lawrenceville Parkview at Teutopolis, was postponed to today at 4:30 p.m. The winner advances to face Paris Mayo at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

At St. Anthony

St. Anthony advanced in the Class 1A Casey-Westfield Regional with a victory Wednesday.

The Bullpups downed Red Hill (Bridgeport) 4-1. St. Anthony will now face Casey-Westfield at the Fairview Park softball diamond Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Casey.

The Oblong at Paris Crestwood game was not played Wednesday evening due to the weather. That contest will be played today at 6 p.m. at the Paris American Legion softball diamond. The winner of that game will face Cumberland at 10 a.m. Saturday at Casey.
