Junior High Softball -- August 25

Teutopolis improved to 8-3-1 on the season with an 11-3 win over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high softball action Monday.

The two squads were tied at 1-1 after the first and 3-3 after the third. T-town then pushed ahead 6-3 in the fourth and tallied five more runs over the next two innings.

T-town had 11 hits led by M. Mette with two singles and an RBI and O. Niemerg with a single, double and two RBI. E. Deters added two RBI.

St. Anthony was led by K. Kabbes with three singles and S. Kinkelaar with a single and two RBI.

Shelbyville handed St. Elmo/Brownstown a 15-4 loss. Shelbyville stepped out to a 3-1 first inning lead then had a five-run second.

Effingham downed Salem Franklin Park 12-6 behind a 17-hit attack. Skyler Schafer had two singles, a triple and four RBI. Morgan Krouse had a single, double and two RBI while Kiyah Kuhlman had a single, triple and an RBI. Chloe Funneman contributed two doubles. Carsyn Fearday had a single, double and an RBI and Miranda Fox two doubles.

Phillips picked up the pitching win on a five-hitter.
