Hillary Shelton Named Millikin's Best Defensive Player

DECATUR, Ill. -- The Millikin University softball team recently announced its letter and award winners for the 2014 season.

Player and senior Hillary Shelton (Beecher City, H.S.) was named Millikin’s Best Defensive Player and won her fourth letter.

Junior Taylor Hull (Decatur, MacArthur H.S./Parkland CC) was named the Big Blue’s Most Valuable Player and Pitcher of the Year. Senior Meghan Matthews (Clinton, H.S.) was named the Big Blue’s Best Offensive Player.  Freshman Nicole Koch (Morton, H.S.) was named the Big Blue’s Most Improved Player. Sophomore Lexi Rogers (Tuscola, H.S.) received the Most Inspirational Player Award.

Sophomore Alyssa Visvardis (Homer Glen, Lockport Township H.S.) was named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) All-Conference Second Team.

Millikin finished 17-20 on the season.
