The 2014 Lincoln Land Community College Lady Logger softball team finished seventh in the nation at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament earlier this month in Clinton, Mississippi.

The Springfield-based squad finished the season with a 52-16 record, and set school records in most wins (52), most games played (68), home runs (52), and runs scored (572).  This is the second year in a row the Loggers have reached the national tournament.  Last season, they finished ninth in the nation.

Katie Lange, a 2012 graduate of Altamont Community High School, and Lindsay Floyd, a 2013 graduate of Windsor High School, were members of the 2014 Lady Logger softball team.

(KATIE LANGE)

Lange pitched for the Lady Loggers, ending the season with an 11-3 record and a 1.92 ERA.  She was chosen NJCAA D2 National Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 10-16.  During that week, she pitched a perfect game against Southeastern Illinois with eight strikeouts, and shutout Iowa Central, 7-0.  Katie just completed her sophomore year at LLCC and will continue her education and softball career at Georgia Gwinnett University in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

(LINDSAY FLOYD)

Floyd played third base and pitched for the Lady Loggers.  She hit .369 and slugged four home runs.  Floyd just completed her freshman season at Lincoln Land.
