Several area teams were successful in winning a softball or baseball regional championship Saturday and one school won both.

That school is Teutopolis, no stranger to post-season success.  The Wooden Shoes posted an 8-2 victory over Marshall to win the Casey-Westfield 2A softball regional, and won 9-0 over Marshall to win the Robinson 2A baseball regional.

The softball Shoes will next play Wednesday at 4:30pm against Breese Central in the St. Anthony Sectional.

The baseball Shoes will next play Wednesday at 4:30pm against Trenton Wesclin in the Greenville Sectional.

Altamont won the Altamont 1A regional, downing Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor, 10-3.  Altamont will next play Wednesday at 4:30pm against Cumberland at the Toledo 1A Sectional.  Cumberland won over Catlin, 7-3, to win the Toledo 1A Regional.

Also Saturday, Wayne City won their own regional, 8-2, over Woodlawn; Oblong won the Dieterich 1A Regional, 3-2, over Hutsonville/Palestine; and Sullivan defeated Shelbyville, 5-3, to win the Shelbyville 2A Regional.
