Mattoon Premier off to Good Start at Nationals

Mattoon Premier is off to a 2-0 start at the ASA/USA Girls 14U National Softball Tournament in Sioux City, South Dakota.

The Premier squad includes Katie and Annie Borries, twin daughters of Dan and Darlene Borries of Teutopolis and Alison Apke, daughter of Chris and Michele Apke of Lillyville.

Mattoon Premier won over Gainesville Gold-Silverman Monday, 13-1 and downed Lady Lasers Green Tuesday, 6-1 in pool play.

The championship round is underway today.  Premier is to play at 6pm.  The tournament continues through Sunday.
