Teutopolis, Altamont, SS/W Advance In Softball Regionals

CASEY -- Kadi Borries pitched a no-hitter as Teutopolis High School handed Robinson an 8-1 loss in the Class 2A Casey-Westfield Softball Regional Tuesday.
Borries went 4 2/3 innings with a perfect game and finished up with four walks and seven strikeouts.
Kaitlin Smith and Madison Cowman had a single and a home run each. The pair hit solo shots in the third inning. Cowman finished with two RBI while Smith had one run driven in. Anni Borries contributed two singles and three RBI.
The Wooden Shoes are now 24-3 on the season and advance to the championship game Saturday against either Marshall or Casey-Westfield. Those two teams play today at 4:30 p.m.

Class 1A Altamont Regional
Altamont and Stewardson-Strasburg picked up victories to advance to the championship game Saturday against each other.
The No. 1 seeded team, Altamont, easily handled Beecher City-Cowden-Herrick to the tune of 14-0 in five innings.
Altamont banged out 11 hits while Deidre Ledbetter pitched a one-hitter with no walks and 12 strikeouts.
Ohnesorge, Phillips and White had a hit and two RBI each for the winners. The lone hit for BCCH came from Reed.
In the second contest, Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor beat St. Elmo/Brownstown 6-1. SEB took a 1-0 first inning lead before Stew-Stras/Windsor came back with two runs in the second and went on to tally six runs.
Burton had a single, double and an RBI while M. Quast had two RBI, Tabor a double and Schultz a single, home run and two RBI. Stew-Stras/Windsor improves to 19-6.
SEB had four players hit a single each. The Eagles end the season at 15-16.
Altamont meets Stew-Stras/Windsor at 11 a.m. Saturday for the championship.

Class 2A Lawrenceville Regional
Newton saw its season come to a close at the Class A Lawrenceville Regional. The Eagles suffered a 2-1 loss to Fairfield.
Fairfield tallied its only two runs in the first inning. Newton came back with a run in the second but that was all the Eagles were to score. Fairfield advances to the championship game Saturday.
In the second contest, Lawrenceville outlasted Flora 12-10. Lawrenceville will face Fairfield for the title Saturday.

Class 1A Wayne City
South Central fell to Wayne City 4-2. Wayne City had single runs in the first and second innings along with two more in the fourth and sixth. The Cougars two runs came in the seventh.
South Central was led by Gunnels with a double and two RBI and King with a single. The Cougars end the season at 2-19.
Wayne City advances to the champioinship game Saturday against either Woodlawn or Odin. Those two teams meet today.

Oblong blanked Red Hill (Bridgeport) 5-0 in the Dieterich Regional. Oblong advances to face either Dieterich or Hutsonville/Palestine Saturday for the regional title.
Dieterich and Hutsonville/Palestine square off today at 4:30 p.m.
Class 2A Shelbyville Regional
Shelbyville and Sullivan were winners and advance to the championship game Saturday at 11 a.m.
Shelbyville defeated Pana 11-1 while Sullivan was a 6-1 winner over Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.
