Effingham moved above the .500 mark Friday with a 4-2 win over Flora.

Effingham scored in the first and added two runs in the third.  Flora scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to pull within 3-2, but Effingham scored in the bottom of the fifth to give pitcher Hope Collier a little breathing room.

Collier went the distance, allowing one earned run on four hits, walking two and striking out five.  She improved to 10-7 on the spring.

Collier helped her own cause, homering in the third.  Jenna Wright and Shelby Nunamaker each doubled and singled, and Madison Weis and Brittany Beals each singled.

Effingham improved to 11-10 on the season.  The Lady Hearts are back in action Tuesday at Teutopolis for a doubleheader at 4pm.  Hear both games on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com.
