Teutopolis Blanks Cumberland In Softball

TOLEDO -- Teutopolis High School traveled to Cumberland and blanked the Pirates 10-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule Friday in girls softball action.

T-town stepped out to a 4-0 first ininng lead and never looked back. Kadi Borries had two singles, a triple and three RBI for the winners. Anni Borries had a single, double and an RBI while Cowman had a single, double and an RBI.

K. Borries pitched a one-hitter with no walks and six strikeouts.

The Wooden Shoes improve to 17-0 on the season.

Neoga claimed a 7-5 victory over Dieterich in Saturday competition. Dieterich outhit Neoga 12-9.

The Indians took a 3-1 first inning lead but Dieterich came back to lead 4-3 after five. Neoga then tallied four more in the sixth.

Blazich, Albin and Posten had two singles each. Posten had two RBI while Albin had one. Padgett had a triple and an RBI.

Dieterich was led by Garbe with two doubles, Higgs with a single, two doubles and two RBI, Bannick with a double and an RBI and Brummer with three singles.
