Wessel's Claims Doubleheaders

Wessel's Coors Light downed Sullivan Hurricanes in a men's fastpitch softball doubleheader Tuesday evening at Sullivan's Wyman Park.

Wessel's won the opener 10-4 behind 13 hits. Sean Lee and Brent Bohnhoff had a single, triple and an RBI each to lead the winners. John Niebrugge had four singles and Cole Koester two singles and three RBI.

In the second contest, Wessel's won 14-3 in five innings. Wessel's had seven run innings in the first and second. Paul Mersman pitched a five-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks. S. Lee had two triples and drove in four runs. Chad Buehnekermper had a single, double and an RBI while Niebrugge had a double and an RBI.

In games last Thursday, Wessel's defeated Koerner Miller Lite 9-2 and 6-1.
